Endo Joins USGBC Californias Net Zero Accelerator - Cohort 8

Endo Enterprises has been selected as a cohort member of the Net Zero Accelerator (NZA) Cohort 8 (2026) — the U.S. Green Building Council California program that places pilot-ready building technologies with real-world hosts across the state.

The selection puts EndoCool on a path toward its own Californian pilot deployment, adding to a body of independent validation that includes the California Gas Emerging Technology Program field study and other heating and cooling pilot projects.

A Californian testbed for net zero building technology

The Net Zero Accelerator, run by USGBC California, has helped more than a hundred growth-stage companies secure over sixty pilot deployments since its founding — connecting technology providers with property owners, utilities, and public-sector partners who are actively looking for practical, measurable ways to cut energy and carbon from their buildings.

Recent cohorts have drawn companies from across the US, Canada, the UK, and Singapore — a reflection of California’s role as a proving ground for technologies that need to work under real operating conditions before they can scale.

Being selected into Cohort 8 means EndoCool now has a structured six-month runway to secure a hosted pilot with a California building owner, backed by USGBC California’s network of real estate, engineering, and utility partners.

An independent Californian field study

The technology recently underwent one of the most rigorous independent evaluations to date: a Gas Emerging Technologies (GET) field study, administered under the Statewide GET Program on behalf of Southern California Gas Company and conducted by ICF, with field support from Lincus.

The study set out to answer a direct question — does a hydronic fluid additive reduce natural gas consumption in real commercial buildings, and by how much?

Verified independently on Californian buildings, under California climate conditions.

Normalised natural gas savings ranged from 10.7% to 19.8% across the two sites, averaging 15.25% — consistent with the double-digit savings customers elsewhere have reported, but this time verified independently.

Installation required no modification to existing equipment and no disruption to heating service, and one of the two sites recovered its material cost within the 114-day post-installation reporting period alone. The study’s authors were candid that broader confidence would benefit from evaluation across a wider range of climate zones — precisely the kind of additional field data an NZA-hosted pilot is designed to generate.

Why this matters for EndoCool

While the GET report focused on the heating side of hydronic systems, EndoCool applies the same underlying science to the other half of a building’s hydronic infrastructure: cooling — where the same improvements in heat transfer can help chillers reach setpoints faster, cycle less, and use less electricity to deliver the same cooling load.

Cooling-dominated commercial buildings — offices, data centers, hospitals, hotels, and much of the built environment across California — represent an enormous share of statewide electricity demand, and chiller plants are frequently among the largest single energy users in a facility.

Despite that, the heat-transfer properties of the water used in these systems remain significantly underdeveloped, and chilled-water additives like EndoCool have had less independent field scrutiny in the US than their heating-side counterpart.

A California-hosted NZA pilot gives EndoCool the opportunity to close that gap: an independent, real-world deployment with a committed building partner.

“
Being selected for the Net Zero Accelerator is a real opportunity to showcase the market development of EndoCool worldwide and transfer that knowledge to the Californian marketplace. We are excited to engage with USGBC-CA’s network of building owners and partners and showcase the results of this program.

Looking ahead

Over the coming months, Endo Enterprises will be working with USGBC California’s team to identify a California pilot host for EndoCool.

Building owners, facility managers, and energy managers interested in exploring a hosted EndoCool pilot are encouraged to get in touch.
